Check out WandaVision's wonderfully weird new trailer
WandaVision is an upcoming American television miniseries created by Jac Schaeffer for Disney + and based on the Marvel Comics characters Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch and Vision. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and shares continuity with the films in the franchise. The series takes place after the events of the movie Avengers: Endgame (2019). WandaVision was produced by Marvel Studios, with Schaeffer as screenwriter and Matt Shakman as director.
It's been a dry year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe - for the first time since 2010, we haven't seen a single Marvel release, as Black Widow and Eternals have been postponed until next year thanks to the coronavirus. This long drought, however, will end with the premiere of the Disney + WandaVision series next month, which has just received a new trailer and poster to rekindle its advertising engines.
The series takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and centers on Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olson) and Vision (Paul Bettany), the latter of which was extremely dead the last time we saw him. The pair appear to be trapped in an alternate reality inspired by the classic sitcoms of the last 50 years, with a crazed neighbor and a live studio audience. Anyone familiar with the Marvel Comics House of M series can probably guess where this takes place, but for any fan still struggling to fight their way through the series' wild premises, keep in mind that Wanda's realistic powers are incredible and what 'they are dealing with a lot of pain after vision death.
The Colliders Christina Radish recently spoke to Bettany about the show and he promised a "nice box of puzzles" and that "all this Bonkers stuff will be about something." Everything we've seen and heard about WandaVision (this new trailer is included) makes me incredibly excited to see the series because it seems like one of the most original things to come out of the MCU in a long time. Check out the trailer and the new poster below and see for yourself. WandaVision is coming to Disney + on January 15, 2021.
